7.9.1

Ethernet and PROFINET

The menu shows the static IP Address, which you can also change here. You can also set
the Subnet Mask, Gateway and Controller Name. The settings apply to both Ethernet and
PROFINET connections. When operating via PROFINET, additional information about the
PROFINET network is displayed: the fieldbus processor load, the MAC address, the bus
status, and information about the PROFINET firmware and the controller.

Information

If the IP address or the subnet mask is changed, the connection will be cut. The web
interface will try to reconnect to the new IP address however.

Tip

Download the GSD file required for PROFINET applications here directly from the device.

EtherCAT

Important

You must have an EtherCAT fieldbus available on switching to EtherCAT, as browser-
based control is no longer possible afterward. We recommend making the settings first in
your web browser and only then switching to EtherCAT, even though all settings are in
principle accessible via EtherCAT.
An alternative is to use an Ethernet switch port, such as the Beckhoff EL6601, in the PLC.
This will allow you to access the DSE via EtherCAT and via your browser.

Click on SWITCH FIELDBUS to enable EtherCAT from your browser.

The Fieldbus menu then displays the fieldbus processor load, the MAC address, and the
bus status, if you are able to use your browser simultaneously.

Parameter Sets

You can save up to 10 different parameter sets, and thus setups, in the device. Assign
names to the parameter sets to make it easier to identify the different setups. A name
