Information
The coarse and fine flow pre-act entries relate to the target weight. So you must subtract
this pre-act (derivative-action) value from the target weight to calculate the fine flow cut
off point. For the coarse flow cutoff point, you must subtract the pre-act value from the
fine flow cutoff point, i.e. target weight minus fine flow pre-act minus coarse flow pre-
act.
The advantage of this calculation method is that, if the target weight is not changed too
much, the other settings can usually be retained.
As long as you have not started a recording, or if you change parameters, the assumption
in the simulation (graph) is 1 second each for coarse and fine flow and a 10% empty
weight.
Once you have entered the key parameters, you can START RECORDING and START
FILLING. Recording starts only one measurement (for a maximum of 10 seconds). Filling
starts the filling process with the specified values. The statistics show the average values
over the last 20 operations. Only values measured after connecting to the device are
displayed, however, as the values are not stored in the DSE.
General
Target weight: This entry is required, otherwise you will not be able to start a process.
Maximum filling time: If you enter 0, it is unlimited. Otherwise a fill will be stopped after
this time. Note that the maximum measurement time of a manual measurement is
10 seconds.
Valve control: Valve control determines how the two signals for controlling coarse and
fine flow are set. The easiest way to see the effect of different settings is to look at the
blue bars below the graph for fine and coarse flow: The bars indicate the opening
duration of the respective valves.
0:
Coarse and fine flow are always activated during opening. When
the coarse flow cutoff point is reached, the coarse flow is
deactivated. If opening takes place in the fine flow phase, e.g.
during refilling, the coarse and fine flows are also activated
simultaneously, though the coarse flow is then deactivated
again as soon as the weight increases.
You can apply the method for valves that open only when
controlled with coarse and fine flow.
1:
Coarse and fine flow are always activated at the start of coarse
flow. When the coarse flow cutoff point is reached, the coarse
flow is deactivated. If opening takes place in the fine flow phase,
e.g. during refilling, only the fine flow is activated.
