The advanced options for Serial protocol 1 channels are shown below.
Device Address
: The 4-digit address of the sensor (numbers 0-9 only). This address is the same for
all input channels which read data from this sensor. Changing the device address in one input
channel will automatically update the address in the other input channels on the sensor.
Reading
: The dust sensor returns eight types of readings, as shown in the table above. This setting
allows you to choose, from the drop-down menu, which of these readings the channel should log.
Each reading will be automatically scaled to engineering units, e.g. µg/m
3
. This is done by applying
the scaling factors listed in the table above, as an input calibration, when the input is first setup.
This calibration can be adjusted manually from the calibration setup page, if required.
Extract values from
: Each reading can be extracted from either the sensor's LCD or Memory.
LCD
readings are those currently shown on the sensor's display, averaged over the display refresh
period (typically 10 seconds). These are the "current" readings, and can be averaged within the
hydrospider by selecting a sampling period which is shorter than the logging period, for example
sampling the input once per minute, but logging the channel every 10 minutes, to log a 10-minute
average.
