Web Interface
All hydroSpider2 units contain a built-in web interface. This eliminates the need for any software to
be installed on the PC.
The web interface allows users to access the hydroSpider2 using any web browser, just as they
would if they were accessing a website on the internet (but no internet connection or dialling is
required).
All actions can be performed using the web interface, including:
Setting up a hydroSpider
Viewing current sensor readings
Downloading logged data
Controlling outputs
Viewing and resetting alarms
Performing software upgrades
The hydroSpider2’s web interface has been tested with the following browsers:
Internet Explorer 11
Microsoft Edge
Google Chrome
Note
that the browser will need to have JavaScript enabled for the hydroSpider2’s web interface to
function correctly.
1.4
Logging
The hydroSpider contains on-board storage which it uses for data logging. This memory is non-
volatile, meaning that logged data is not lost in the event of a total power failure.
The hydroSpider can store approximately 400,000 records at a time, after which the oldest records
are overwritten with newer data. For most applications, this number of records translates into
storing many years’ worth of data before overwriting is even necessary.
All records logged by the hydroSpider are date and time stamped with 1-second accuracy.
The hydroSpider logs every action it performs, including:
Channel readings
Control changes
Alarm activation, deactivation, and acknowledgement
SMS transmissions and receptions
Email, FTP, and Twitter transmissions
NTP time synchronisation
Various system messages
