4.  Install the two hex-head bolts and torque to 

60-in. pounds.

Reinstalling Direct Drive Mode Shifter

1. 

Install the flat washer onto the lower 

transmission shaft.

2.  Install the clutch spring.

3.  Slide the clutch into the clutch level of the 

mode shifter and slide the clutch onto the 

shaft.  There are guide tabs on the bottom of 

the mode shifter that go into locator holes on 

the platform.
