MAC Learning Count
(Applicable only to ports in
No Blocking
mode when
MAC Learning
Limit
is set.) Displays the current number of dynamic MAC entries
learned towards the MAC Learning Limit.
When the MAC Learning Limit is configured to an integer in the
available range from 1 to 255, the Marvell‟s MAC Learning Counter will
increment on every new source address learned until the Limit is
reached. From that point on, any frames whose source addresses are
not in the Marvell‟s MAC Address Table will be discarded.
Note:
When the MAC Learning Limit is configured to '-', the port's MAC
Learning Counter does not keep track of the number of MAC
addresses learned so the Count field is inactive. Note, however, that
any new entries to the Marvell‟s MAC address table will be reflected in
the “LAN” Entries count below.
Note:
When the port‟s security mode is changed from „No Blocking‟ to
„Secured‟, any previously learned MAC addresses will be copied from
RAM to flash. From that point on, they will be treated as pseudo-static
(rather than
dynamic) entries and the „Count‟ field will be blanked out.
If the security mode is then changed to „No Blocking‟, all pseudo-static
entries will be erased from the MAC table. The Count field will become
active and, as the new MAC addresses are being learned, the
displayed count will be incrementing (starting from 0).
“LAN” Entries
Displays the total number of entries in Marvell‟s MAC address table
including both learned (i.e. dynamic and pseudo-static) and static MAC
addresses. This field is also available in the top section of the MAC
tab.
Note
: The “LAN” Entries reading is also available in the top section of
the MAC tab.
