Note:
All ports on the same D-PVLAN must be set for the same QVLAN filtering
mode (either enabled or disabled), while their individual output tagging settings (if
applicable) may vary.
Port Types
Port Type selection is made at the beginning of the provisioning process for a
paddleboard port. Table 2 shows the presently available port types.

Notes
Ingress: Untagged
and/or tagged frames.
(Any QVLAN IDs are
ignored.)
Ingress: Tagged frames
with various QVLAN IDs
(from another D-PVLAN
trunk port or external
switch/router). Each
(outer) QVLAN ID
corresponds to a specific
D-PVLAN.
Ingress:
- Untagged frames.
Default QVLAN ID is
applied.
- Tagged frames (if
enabled) with QVLAN
ID matching Default
QVLAN ID.
Ingress: Tagged frames
with various QVLAN IDs
(from external switch).
All QVLANs remain on
same D-PVLAN and are
distributed using
QVLAN filtering.
Ingress of untagged
frames is optional.
* GUI prevents the user from disabling ingress of both tagged and untagged frames.

Note:
The Port Type parameter is not available on unit versions <3.00.

In the VistaNET software, the user will find some references to the fifth port type called “QinP-
Trunk” (QPT). This port type is not supported by ETHER-1000 V3 and, therefore, not explained
at this time.
