LED Indications
Each 86498-95 or 86418-6X paddleboard module provides two LEDs per each of
its four ports to provide a visual indication of the port status. Their function is as
follows:
Green “LINK” LED:
Steady on
indicates:
RJ-45 port: Link pulses are received.
Optical port: Port is idle and valid optical level received.
Flashing
indicates the normal ingress or egress of packets.
Off
indicates:
RJ-45 port: No link pulses received.
Optical port: Invalid optical level received or no link pulses
(if port is enabled).
Amber “ALERT” LED:
Off
indicates that the port is enabled and none of the problems
listed below are detected.
Steady on
or
flashing
indicates that the port is enabled and
experiencing:
-
Late collisions (applicable to RJ-45 ports only),
-
Excessive collisions (applicable to RJ-45 ports only),
-
Invalid optical level received (applicable to optical ports
only),
-
Reception of bad frames (CRC errored),
-
Reception of “illegal-length” frames (>1632 bytes, or those
with an "alignment" error), or
-
Inability to output traffic
Note:
Occurrence of any of the above errors will cause the
ALERT LED to light for 500 ms. If during this time no new alert
condition has been observed, the LED turns off.
Double-Winking
indicates that the port is disabled.
