WARNING:
When the appliance is not in use, always switch off (press the
power button), and unplug the appliance. Only store the appliance where it is
protected against inadmissible strain (e.g. moisture, electric or mechanic shock,
heat, frost, direct sunlight) and out of reach of young children.
CAUTION:
Always leave the appliance cool down, remove the drip tray, and
empty the water tank, before moving the appliance for storage. Always grasp the
appliance at both sides at the machine back post for moving it. Do not grasp the
appliance at the group head, drip tray, water tank, or power cord for moving.
Always store the appliance in upright position on a stable, dry, frost-free, and cle-
an surface. Do not place any hard or heavy objects on or in the appliance or its
parts. Store all accessories with the appliance.
1. Before storing for an elongated period of time, you should descale the appli-
ance (see: ‘Descaling the Machine’). Clean the appliance and all parts and
accessories before storage according to the instructions in chapter: ‘Care and
Cleaning’. Ensure that the appliance and all parts are completely dry.
2. You should install a filter basket and the portafilter at the group head to protect the
interior of the portafilter and the filter basket against dust. Place the cleaning tool
and second filter basket into the storage chamber and close the storage chamber.
3. Remove the drip tray to avoid that the drip tray will fall out during moving. Grasp
the appliance with both hands at the sides of the machine back post and place
it on an suitable surface. Reassemble all parts to avoid loss (e.g. drip tray, stain-
less steel sleeve of the steam wand).
4. Lay the power cord loosely around the appliance. The power cord may not be
knotted, squeezed, or bent.
Important:
Do not use any parts or accessories of the appliance for any other
purpose than operating the appliance. It is good advice to store the parts and
accessories of the appliance with the appliance.
