3.3.1 Enable EPCU Bypass
Once the installation environment has been determined to be safe (non-explosive), the
EPCU Bypass
may be enabled by following the procedure below.
1. Using the keypad on the front panel of the EPCU, press SETUP.
2. Enter the
Setup
password
(↓ ← ↑ ←) and press START / SET. BYPASS CONTROL
will then be displayed.
3. Press START / SET. Enter the
Bypass
passwor
d (↑ → ↓ →) then press START / SET
again. If the password was entered correctly, BYPASS ENABLE and BYPASS ON will
be displayed on the EPCU screen.
4. Using the arrow keys, select BYPASS ENABLE, then press START/SET.
5. Using the arrow keys, select YES, then press START/SET. SETTING CORRECT Y/N
will be displayed.
6. Using the arrow keys, select Y and press START/SET. BYPASS ENABLE and
BYPASS ON will again be displayed.
7. Using the arrow keys, select Y and press START/SET. The SYSTEM BYPASS LED
above the EPCU display will illuminate in yellow indicating that the EPCU is now
bypassed.
Once the SYSTEM BYPASS indicator starts flashing yellow, the EPCU system has been
successfully bypassed. The control cabinet door can now be opened without causing an
automatic shut down. When the cabinet door is opened, the ALARM / FAULT indicator will
flash red and the SAFE PRESSURE indicator will turn off. The ENCLOSURE POWER
indicator will remain illuminated in green.
3.3.2 Disable System Bypass
– Area Safe (Non-Explosive)
Once maintenance work is complete, and the installation environment remains safe (non-
explosive), the System Bypass should be disabled following the procedure below. This
procedure will prevent an automatic shut-down from occurring once the System Bypass is
disabled.
1. Close and latch the control cabinet door. Ensure that the SAFE PRESSURE indicator
above the EPCU display illuminates in blue and the ALARM / FAULT indicator stops
flashing red. If SAFE PRESSURE does not illuminate, disabling the System Bypass
will result in an auto-shutdown of the analyzer power supply.
2. Using the arrow keys, select BYPASS ON and press START/SET.
3. Using the arrow keys, select OFF and press START/SET. SETTING CORRECT? will
be displayed.
4. Select Y and press START/SET. The SYSTEM BYPASS indicated on the EPCU
display will turn off, and the SYSTEM BYPASS indicator will stop flashing yellow. The
EPCU is now once again in full-auto mode.
