(i) Remove the electrode cover
(ii) Loosen screw located on electrode fixture.
(iii) Take the electrode from the V-groove.
(4) Clean the new electrodes with alcohol-impregnated clean gauze or lint-free tissue
and install them in the splicer.
(i) Place the new electrode with the electrode collar lightly pressed against the
V-groove.
(ii) Tighten the screw firmly with fingers, and install the electrode cover.
(5) Turn on the power. Set a 4 fiber ribbon in
one side of the fiber holder, and perform
stripping and cleaning. Without cleaving
the fiber, set the fiber holder onto the splicer
across both left and right V-grooves. Then
press . After executing the arc calibration,
the splicer will repeat the arc discharge 30
times in succession to stabilize the
electrodes.
(6) Upon completion of repeated arc discharge, the splicer executes an arc
calibration again. The operator should repeat arc calibration until the “Test
Finished” message appears. For details of the arc calibration process, see
page 42.
• Do not pull out wiring when replacing electrode.
• Tighten the screw firmly with fingers. Do not use a screw driver to tighten
the screw.
Loosen the screw, and remove
the old electrode.
Tighten the screw with fingers.
Remove the electrode cover.
Install the new electrode.
Install the electrode cover.
