5-18 Measurements and calculations
i On a frozen Doppler trace, on the Volume Flow menu, tap TAP (peak). To use a different velocity
measurement, tap and then choose either Mean or Manual .
ii For Manual , trace the waveform by dragging the calipers.
To make a correction, trace backward on the dotted line.
iii For Peak or Mean, position the vertical calipers by dragging.
iv Tap to save the measurement.
5 Tap WORKSHEET to view the results.
Cardiac calculations
In the Cardiac exam, you can perform the following calculations:

Note Using the Mean option will not provide a VTI measurement.
WARNINGS

To avoid incorrect calculations, verify that the patient information, date, and time
settings are accurate.

To avoid misdiagnosis or harming the patient outcome, start a new patient form
before starting a new patient exam and performing calculations. Starting a new
patient form clears the previous patient’s data. The previous patient’s data will be
combined with the current patient if the form is not first cleared. See “Entering
patient information” on page 4-31.

Moving the baseline, scrolling, or inverting the trace while frozen clears the
displayed results.
Note The following table lists representative calculation results displayed on the clinical
monitor. More results may be found in the worksheets and reports.
