1.3 Required and supplementary documentation
The documents listed in the attachments of these operating instructions (supplier documen-
tation for components, etc.) are part of the scope of delivery and must be observed.
The progressive cavity pump with corresponding motor must not be put into operation before
the supplier documentation is available and has been read and understood.
1.4 Presentation of information
Uniform safety instructions, symbols, terms and abbreviations are used for simplification and
to ensure safe working with these operating instructions. These elements are explained in
the following sections for better understanding.
1.4.1 Safety instructions
Safety instructions warn against personal injury or damage to property. The described safety
measures must be observed. Safety instructions and warnings in this document identify dan-
gers and risks. They are structured according to ANSI Z535.6-2011 and the ISO 3864 series
of standards.

Type and source of danger
Consequences of non-compliance.

Measures for avoidance / prohibitions.
Signal words have the following meaning:

Warning sign: draws attention to the danger.

Signal word: indicates the severity of the danger.

Type and source of danger: identifies the causes of the danger.

Consequences: describes the consequences of non-compliance.

Measures: lists measures to avoid the danger.
