6.1
Maintenance intervals
The following maintenance tasks must be performed:
Maintenance item
Action
Reason, frequency
Base device
Wash solution bottle
Check filling level, replenish
Daily
Waste bottle
Check filling level, empty
Daily
Sampling compartment
Remove contamination
Daily
Check pump tubes for flexibility and
tightness
Daily,
replace tubes if necessary
Plasma compartment
Replace windows for beam entry
and exit in the plasma compart-
ment
If streaks and burnt-in residues are visible
If losses in energy occur
Replace the cone of the window
(axial observation)
If the cone is corroded resulting from the analysis
of strongly alkaline or acidic samples
Rear air filter
Check for soiling
Check monthly for soiling, replace annually and if nec-
essary
Water filter
Check for soiling
Check monthly, replace if heavily soiled and at least
once a year
Gas connectors
Check for leaks
After renewing connections
If the manometer indicates a distinct pressure loss
If the plasma fails to ignite or is accompanied by
loud noise
Torch and nebulizer
Torch
Remove and clean
If visible soiling can be seen (particularly a metallic
film or if the quartz glass appears very milky and
white)
Intervals may vary largely in dependence on the inves-
tigated sample material (from daily to annually).
Nebulizer
Clean
If reproducibility deteriorates significantly or a drift
is observed
In dependence on the investigated sample mate-
rial (e.g., samples with a high salt content or with
suspended sediments)
Inside glass body of the
holder
Replace
If cracked
Autosampler ASPQ 3300
Surfaces
Clean
Daily
Collection tray
Remove residue liquid from tray
If there are residues in the tray
Sample tube/
cannula
Check that they are free of sediment
build-up
Daily
Sediments can falsify measurement results
Wash cup
Clean
Weekly
Pump tubes
Check for flexibility and tightness
Daily,
replace if necessary
