8.5 Removing the Trailing Cable
1. Remove the Top Cover.
2. Remove the Trailing Cable Cover from the back of the Y-Arm.
Use a 5/16 Hex Nut Driver to remove the three nuts which secure
it to the back of the Y-Arm.
3. Remove the Right Cover Assembly. See Section 4.1.
CAUTION
Handle the Trailing Cable with care. Do not twist or turn the cable.
NOTE
Note: 1. Perform this procedure only if the Trailing Cable is being
replaced.
2. If you are replacing only the Trailing Cable, it is not
necessary to remove the Carriage Assembly from the Slide
Shaft.
3. If you have already removed the Carriage Assembly from
the Slide Shaft
in order to replace the Carriage Assembly
(and you are replacing the Trailing Cable as well), you will
need to
do only Steps 3, 4 and 7 of this section .
4. The placement of the double-sided tape which holds the
Trailing Cable to the center of the Stabilizer Bracket is
important for proper movement of the Carriage Assembly.
You may want to obtain P/N 204142 “Fixture Trailing Cable,
Tape, Location” which is used for the exact placement of both
tapes when installing the Trailing Cable. To accurately install
the Trailing Cable on the tapes, obtain P/N 204483 “Fixture
Trailing Cable, Location”.
