11.2

Plotter Slow to Initialize

If the plotter takes an excessive amount of time (30 seconds or more)
to complete the initialization sequence:

1.

If any extra SIMMS has been installed:

a.

The SIMMS contacts may need to be cleaned.

Clean the

SIMMS contacts.

b.

The SIMMS may be defective. Replace the extra SIMMS if
cleaning the contacts does not improve the performance.
See Chapter 5, Section 4.5 for the procedures for replacing
the SIMMS.

c.

If performance is not improved after replacing the extra
SIMMS, the SIMMS socket may be defective. In this case,
you must replace the MPCB. See Chapter 5, Section 4.3.

2.

there may be a defective Flash EPROM on the Main Printed
Circuit Board.

Because the Flash EPROM is soldered to the

MPCB, it is necessary to replace the MPCB. Refer to Chapter 5,
Section 4.3 of this manual for the removal and replacement
procedures for the MPCB.
