MonitorMouse for DOS
The layers for MonitorMouse for DOS applications are as follows:
Your application
MonitorMouse for DOS (MONMOUSE.COM)
ELODEV.EXE
Your mouse driver (MOUSE.COM/.SYS, etc.)
Try these procedures:
•
Reboot and check to see if MONMOUSE.COM is installing without an error
message. See page 118 for a description of each message or Chapter 5 for
installation instructions.
•
See if the problem is only with your application. Try the TUTORIAL program
included with MonitorMouse for DOS (typically in \TOUCH). You can also
try DOS EDIT. The touchscreen and mouse should both work (unless
NOMOUSE.COM is being used). If the touchscreen does not work, see
ELODEV, page 102. If the mouse does not work, check that the latest DOS
mouse driver from your mouse manufacturer is being loaded.
•
If the touchscreen works with TUTORIAL or EDIT but the cursor does not
jump to your finger in your application, you may have a relative mode
program. See Coordinates vs. Mickeys, page 42.
•
If the touchscreen works fine with TUTORIAL or EDIT but there is no beep
on touch in your application, (and the -b- flag is not used), try adding the -t+
flag to the MONMOUSE command line and reboot (see page 51). If there is
still no response in your application, try adding a second "MONMOUSE -t+"
command to your AUTOEXEC file. This will force the touchscreen to
initialize even with applications that are not properly initializing the mouse
driver. At this point your should hear beeps on touch at the DOS prompt even
before you run your application.
•
If calibration is off in your application and it is not a relative mode
application, re-run DEMOCAL, or run ELOCALIB if the video mode used by
your application is not addressed by DEMOCAL. With ELOCALIB, save the
points in ELOGRAPH.CAL and AUTOEXEC.BAT. Reboot and check that
ELOGRAPH.CAL is being read when MONMOUSE.COM is loaded. See -d
flag, page 49.
•
Check that your mouse and touchscreen are not using the same hardware
interrupt (IRQ). The IRQ's used by serial ports are IRQ4 for COM1 and IRQ3
for COM2.
