5. The following message will appear on the display:
where “nn” indicates the interval between calls (cycle), whereas “yy” indicates the cycle start time (the cycle will
start when the hour is struck; therefore, “15” means that the call will be made at 3 p.m.). Letter “T” of “TIM” will
blink. Use button ▼ to select the cycle length, then press
ENTER
to confirm. Possible time intervals are 1, 2, 4,
8, 12 and 24 hours (h), and 2, 3 and 7 days (d).
6. Letter “S” of “START” will blink. Use button ▼ to select the cycle start time, then press

2.14.7 TELEPHONE OPTIONS
To configure the telephone connection in detail, you may set the parameters below:
•
Select
(abbreviated
T
= DTMF or
P
= pulses), i.e. the telephone number dialling mode: multi-frequency (DTMF)
or pulse (Puls) mode.
•
Tone check
(abbreviated
C
), i.e. whether the communicator has to check (YES) or not (NO) the presence of the
dialling requesting tone (“dial tone”). If the tone control is disabled, the number will be dialled approximately 3
seconds after engaging the telephone line. If the dial tone is detected with the tone control enabled, the
communicator will dial the telephone number and then will, prior to sending the messages, check for the call
check tone (“ring back tone”), the lack of which will cause the call to be interrupted and subsequently repeated
based on the programmed cycles.
•
Answer check
(abbreviated
R
), i.e. whether the communicator has, within a call repeat cycle, to call back
(YES) or not (NO) the vocal telephone number that has already answered the call. By enabling the answer
check, which verifies whether the telephone call has been answered, the following results will be obtained:
•
the reception of several telephone alarms for one same event will be avoided (the control unit will be set to
make up to 4 attempts at calling the numbers that have not answered; failure to actuate the answer check
will in any case cause all the telephone calls to be repeated four times, even though there has been an
answer);
•
the vocal message will be played as soon as it is ascertained that the called number has answered (in any
case, the messages will be repeated three times, regardless of whether the answer check is ON).
WARNING! Enabling the answer check will automatically enable the tone check.
•
Routing
(abbreviated
I
), i.e. the communicator is made to emit a number of warning beeps between the ring
pauses. This will help the user to realize that an alarm message is about to come from an automatic device.
•
Vocal call block
(abbreviated
V
), i.e. the communicator will interrupt the vocal calls to be made after any vocal-
sending telephone number has answered. WARNING! The vocal call block shall be enabled only in exceptional
cases, since the communicator is not able to determine who answered a call (the answer from an answering
machine or the free message from a telephone company when a number is busy will in any case interpreted by
the telephone communicator as valid answers).
•
Numeric call block
(abbreviated
N
), i.e. the communicator will not make the remaining numeric protocol calls
after a valid connection is made (this will avoid repeating one same call to other programmed numbers, e.g.
secondary numbers, of the same remote surveillance centre).
•
Bypass answer
(abbreviated
S
), i.e. it enables the bypass answer for remote control (both with DTMF
telephone and modem). Refer to paragraph
3.9.2
Bypass Answer
for more information.
•
Sector AND
(abbreviated
A
= enabled,
O
= disabled), i.e. the communicator will send the “break-in” alarms
through the telephone only if all the sectors are ON (on the contrary, it will send them even though the system is
partially ON).
