Operating Instructions
4.1 Models with Discrete I/O Control Interface
4.1.1 Initial Setup
Wire the actuator power supply according to the diagram in
Wire the digital and analog I/O to the PLC or other controls according to the diagram in
.
Remove the access panel over the User I/O board for access to the selector switches.
Turn on power and check for the Power LED on the User I/O board.
Select the configuration options for the Analog Input and Analog Output.
Set the user-defined limits for extend and retract according to the instructions.
4.1.2 Operational Procedures - Base Model
Assert the Enable input (+24V DC) to enable any movement of the actuator.
Assert the Extend input to extend the actuator.
Assert the Retract input to retract the actuator.
4.1.3 Operational Procedures - Base Model + Analog and Digital I/O
If the optional Analog Input is disabled, the operation is the same as the operation for the base model. The Analog Output
will indicate the current position of the actuator.
If the optional Analog Input is enabled (“analog position” mode), provide a reference to the actuator on the Analog Input
and assert the Enable input to cause the actuator to move. The Enable input may be de-asserted once the actuator is in
position or if the application requires motion to stop.
The Extend and Retract discrete inputs are not used in “analog position” mode.
