4 Use
4.1 Prerequisites
for
use
The operator must check before use whether his chosen equipment (self-
contained breathing apparatus, helmet, full face mask) can be used together
with the protective suit.
WARNING
The environmental chemical load must be determined prior to use, as the
suitability of the chemical protective suit must be determined before its use. The
chemical protective suit must only be used for suitable purposes. The user has
to consider national and other requirements for the use of personal protective
equipment. Non-observance can lead to death or severe physical injuries.
4.2
Preparation for use
1. Test the chemical protective suit. Do not use a damaged chemical protective
suit.
Get a second person to assist you with donning the suit.
2. Treat the visor of the full face mask and the inside of the visor of the
chemical protective with anti-fogging agent.
3. Put on the full face mask, self-contained breathing apparatus and, if
necessary, a helmet.
4. Step into the trouser legs of the suit (take shoes off first).
5. Put on the protective boots and pull the cuffs down over the boots.
6. Put on cotton gloves if necessary.
7. Pull the hood over the head and insert your right arm into the right sleeve
and glove. Slide the backpack of the chemical protective suit over the
respiratory protective device. Slip the left arm into the left sleeve and glove.
8. Close the fastener system. Always pull in the direction of the zip. Do not use
force!
4.3
Observe during use
CAUTION
A build-up of heat in the chemical protective suit can cause a circulatory
collapse.

Wear a Dräger comfort vest underneath if necessary.
– Observe the period of use, operation limits and specific national regulations.
The maximum deployment duration also depends on the type of breathing
apparatus used.
– In case of emergency, leave the contaminated area immediately. Open zip
in clean area only.
4.4 After
use
4.4.1
Precleaning of the chemical protective suit

Risk of contamination!

Only touch contaminated parts with protective clothing.
1. Leave the contaminated area and have the chemical protective suit
precleaned with the aid of an assistant. The assistant must also wear
protective clothing, and breathing apparatus where necessary. For
precleaning, Dräger recommends using plenty of water to which a detergent
has been added. This will sufficiently wash away most chemicals (acids,
alkalis, organic and inorganic substances). Avoid spreading chemicals.
2. In the event of contamination with hazardous substances, dispose of the
waste water in line with the relevant waste water disposal regulations.
4.4.2
Remove the chemical protective suit

Only take off the chemical protective suit in a non-contaminated area.
1. Get a second person to open the zip.
2. Pull the hood off your head.
3. Take off the chemical protective suit.
4. Remove the respiratory protective device.
5 Transport
Transport the chemical protective suit in its original packaging.
6 Storage
Store the chemical protective suit in a dark, cool, dry and airy place without
pressure or stress and in its original packaging. Keep out of UV light and direct
sunlight; avoid ozone. Observe the permissible storage temperature (see
"General", page 8). If the chemical protective suit is not used and the storage
conditions are adhered to, the chemical protective suit has a life span of
ten years. Observe the different expiry dates of the components.
CAUTION
Failure to observe the storage conditions can result in damage to the chemical
protective suit!
7 Disposal
The chemical protective suit must be disposed of in accordance with the
applicable waste disposal regulations. The chemical protective suit can be
disposed of thermally or on waste dumps. The form of disposal depends on the
contamination.
