• The thermostat sensor with protective tube
(1) reaches into the water. A low
temperature causes a pressure decrease in
the thermostat capillary which results in the
connection of the thermostat contacts. The
connection value is approx. 4 °C (39 °F)
below the adjusted thermostat value.
• The heating element (2) heats up the water
until the temperature adjusted at the
thermostat is achieved. An increased
pressure in the thermostat capillary
interrupts the electric circuit by opening the
contacts and thus the heating is switched
off. (Fig. 1)
• The capillary (3) of the dry running
protection is wound around the heating
element. At a certain overtemperature the
heating circuit is interrupted by opening the
contacts. Thus overheating due to lack of
water in the boiler is prevented.
The dry running protection is equipped with
a manually actuated reset button (4) (in the
boiler cover). (Fig. 1)
• The safety thermostat (overflow) (5) is
placed on the outside. Its sensor (6) is
mounted in the boiler cover above the
overflow tube. The thermostat contacts
open and interrupt the heating process if
steam is produced or the water boils over.
The manually actuated reset button at the
safety thermostat must only be actuated
after the dispenser has been disconnected
from the mains supply. (Fig. 1)
• When the water temperature decreases
below 80 °C (176 °F), the temperature
sensor switches the yellow LED at the
operating panel on.
• The heating circuit must be protected by a
fuse outside the dispenser in accordance
with the national regulations of the energy
suppliers.
