Module Components
Front Panel Features
Table 2-1 describes the front-panel components that are illustrated in Figure 2-1.

Power LED
Lights when the module has

Lights when the module passes
self-test. Flashes when a non-fatal
error occurs on self-test. If the
module fails self-test, the Module
OK LED is off.

Lights when the module has an
active network connection.

Activity LED
Flashes or remains on depending
on network activity.

Seven-
Segment
Display
Provides error and status
information regarding testing,
loading, and power conditions
(see Appendix A, Problem
Solving for details).

Flash RAM
Slot
Provides an opening for the Flash
RAM card.

Reset Switch
Resets the module to factory
defaults. To reset: while turning
on the power, press and hold the
reset switch until the Module OK
LED flashes; or if the DECserver
900MC is in operation mode (the
seven-segment display shows the
"race track" pattern), hold the
switch in for ten-seconds. The
module reboots with factory
defaults.

Provides connection status on a
per port basis.
