F-42 AT Commands
The following prompts appear when you issue the $P command:
Passwords must contain exactly five alphanumeric characters. Upper case or lower
case and parity are ignored. You must type the old password correctly in order to enter
a new password. You must type the new password the same way both times for it to
take effect. Periods are echoed as the password is entered.
NOTES

The password becomes valid 2 minutes after the last logon or Connection Security
password was entered.

If you forget your password, you can just press at the OLD PASSWORD: prompt.
$P Security Database Password (V.25bis Synchronous Mode)
AT$Pooooo;nnnnn; Where ooooo equals the old password and nnnnn equals the new password
Sets a new password or changes an existing password. Issue this command at least
once to enable the modem’s connection security operation for the first time. If a
password has never been set or you erase it, there is no password connection security
in effect.
You must type the two ; (semicolons) where indicated. Passwords must contain exactly
five alphanumeric characters. The modem ignores upper case or lower case and parity.
You must type the old password correctly in order to enter a new password.
