*R
n Enable Remote Access Security
*R0
Disables remote access security.
*R1
Enables remote access security.
Control remote access security. With remote access security on and passwords set,
password entry determines whether the modem grants Level 0 or Level 1 access at the
start of a remote access session. With remote access security off, the modem does not
require passwords and grants Level 0 access.
NOTES
•
Remote access is available only during a normal connection or during an MNP
reliable connection without data compression.
•
You must disable remote access security on the local modem, not during a remote
access session.
•
Set all passwords before you enable remote access security. Otherwise, an error
message appears.
:R
n Simulate Ring
:R0
Modem does not simulate ring or act on pulse leads.
:R1
If DTR is low and &D1, &D2, or &D3 is set, the modem simulates ring until DTR is
raised. If DTR is high or if &D0 is set, the modem does not simulate ring and connects
immediately. If the modem simulates a ring and DTR is not raised after 30 seconds,
the modem disconnects.
:R2
Does not simulate ring, but acts on pulse leads.
During MI/MIC operation, controls whether the modem simulates ring according to
the &D setting, as noted above.

n Serial Port Ring Indicator
\R0
Keeps the Ring Indicator signal On for the duration of the telephone call.
\R1

tracks the ring signal on the telephone line.
