8 Default Read
Default read, also named asynchronous read, is a mode where the RFID device continuously
performs inventories on its channels to monitor tags.
In this section, we describe how to configure and perform default read.
8.1 Overview
To perform a default read, follow these steps:
1. Define RF channels configuration (see section 7 for more information).
2. Define read configuration (see section 8.2 for more information).
3. Optionally, change configuration of the tag type to read (see section 9 for more
information).
4. Click button in the toolbar.
CAUTION: Make sure an antenna is connected to channels you use before
turning the radio field on; otherwise it may severely damage the device.
5. Click button in the toolbar.
If the radio field is turned off, DIALOC ID MCQ-Pro will ask you to turn it on;
click “OK” to accept. Again, make sure an antenna is connected to the channel
before accepting.
6. Place tags in the radio field. Tags appear in events panel as they are read (see section 0
for more information).
7. Click button in the toolbar when you are finished reading. You may
want to turn the radio field off as well by clicking button.
8.2 Default Read Configuration
8.2.1 General
In “General” tab, you can define the behavior of DIALOC ID MCQ-Pro during default read.
