B. The DDE or DTS playback systems will have an offset number that is calibrated for the film projector.
Make sure you write the film offset number down as it will have to be set back (reset) prior to playing
film again. The offset for digital projection on the player is 24 frames. While an offset error of 1 or 2
frames is easily seen with sound play back, captioning and description playback is more forgiving. If
you will be going back and forth between film and digital and your film offset is between 20 and 28
frames, you could leave your offset on the film setting. This would avoid sync problems if the operator
forgets to change it back to the film offset.
C. Provided the playback material – that is, Subtitling, Narration, Rear Window/Data Wall or a soundtrack
disc with the appropriate serial number – has been loaded into the player and it matches the recorded
TC serial number on channel 7 or 9, then the file will play. The serial number will allow for an
automatic selection process and select the file from the hard-drive or CD-ROM drive. The file will
automatically play and sync with the digital file master.
D. Perform a quality check once the D-Cinema file is loaded.
