First-time Setup
The AV6010
browser-based user interface is the tool you will use to setup,
change parameters, monitor operations, and diagnose problems.
To establish a connection and login:
1. Connect an Ethernet cable to your computer’s Ethernet port and to the
AV6010 camera SYNC network (either IN or OUT)
NOTE:
You may need to disconnect a cable
from one of these ports if an open one is not
available. If you do so, remember to reconnect
the SYNC camera network cable when you are
finished with system setup.
WARNING:
Only connect to the SYNC network during static calibration.
Having a non-camera system connection to the SYNC network during
normal operations may cause tracking problems.
2. Apply power to the AV6010 camera system.
Wait approximately 4-6 minutes until the startup process is complete.
3. Using Internet Explorer, type the following address in the address box:
http://xx.xx.xx.xx
where
xx.xx.xx.xx
is the IP address of the AV6010.
NOTE:
All AV6010 units ship as DHCP clients without any IP address.
When proper startup is complete and a camera connection is established
via the
SYNC
network, the DHCP controller camera will assume a static IP
address of
192.168.0.50.
Use this IP address for first-time setup. You will
need to obtain the correct IP address that will be used within the building
from the system administrator. This will be used to establish a
HOST
network
later.
In a
multiple-camera system
, the camera with TACH wired to it assumes
the 192.168.0.50 IP, becomes a DHCP server and assigns IP addresses
to the other cameras. The RangeFinder remains a static IP (192.168.0.40).
4. The user interface
Login
screen is displayed.
If your computer is set up for DCHP, it will obtain an IP from the AV6010
automatically. (
See “How to confirm your computer is setup for DCHP”.
)
5. Select the User ID
Setup
from the drop-down
menu in order to define
the system parameters. (The
Monitor
User ID is used only to view and
monitor systems operations.)
6. Enter the default
Password
(‘setup’ or ‘monitor’) in lowercase.
The user interface Home page is displayed.
To change the password, see “How to set new passwords” under
Diagnostics > Tools in Chapter 8.
