MultiViewer Icon

MultiViewer™

is a flexible tool you will use to work with saved images

stored on the Image Depot Server or archived to DVD. The MultiViewer

application resides on the IDS. Users can also Remote Desktop into

MultiViewer on the IDS from a Windows-based computer.

MultiViewer is available on the Image Depot Server and can be accessed

using the monitor/keyboard option. It can also be run on any Windows-based

PC connected to your network. Use MultiViewer to perform the following:

view and analyze images

sort images

backup/archive images

MultiViewer supports compressed JPG and Portable Network Graphic (PNG)

as well as uncompressed Bitmap (BMP) image formats. Unlike regular BMP

or PNG files, image files saved in IDS contain additional information related

to the captured images including an image ID number and start / stop scan

line time stamp.
The extra data is embedded in the BMP or PNG files without destroying the

file format. When using regular Windows-based image viewers to look at

image files saved by VisionCapture (e.g., Image Edit, Internet Explorer), the

extra information is ignored. The MultiViewer application is designed to

display the useful embedded information in the image window.
