Call Monitoring Option Off
Press 1 for ON
0 for OFF
Press 0 to turn Off call screening or 1 to turn it On. Default setting is
Call Screening on.
External Answering Machine/Fax Bypass
If there is an external fax machine or answering machine connected to
the same telephone line as Comfort, it will normally be programmed to
answer incoming calls first, i.e. before Comfort does so. This means that
you would not be able to call from an outside phone to access the
Comfort Voice menu. There is now an Answering Machine Bypass mode
which allows you to access Comfort remotely in such a circumstance. To
activate this, go to Program Menu (User Menu press 9) then 1 for
Answering Machine settings;
Press 0 for Answering Machine Bypass
1 for Number of Rings
2 for Record Time
3 to Record Greeting Message
4 to Hear Greeting Message
5 to Erase Greeting Message
Press 0 for Answering Machine Bypass.
Answering Machine Bypass OFF
Press 0 for Off, 1 for On
Press 1 for On to enable, or 0 for Off to disable (disabled by default).
When you want to call from an outside phone to access Comfort, let the
phone ring exactly once , i.e. as soon as you hear the phone ringing,
end the call immediately. Dial again within a time window of 10 to 25
seconds . This time, Comfort will answer the call immediately. For this to
work, the external answering or fax machine must be programmed to
answer after 3 rings. Program the number of rings for Comfort to answer
(Program Menu 1) so that normally, the external machine will answer
first.
We recommend that you do not use an external answering machine.
Comfort’s built-in answering machine has all you want in an answering
machine, and more.
Immediate Auto-Answer by # key
Comfort answers the phone after a programmable number of rings in
each Security Mode (Security Off, Away, Night, Day). When the phone is
ringing, Comfort can be made to answer the phone immediately by
pressing # on the keypad. This is useful when you do not want to be
