To replace the system board battery:
1.
Follow the steps in “Removing the Access Panel” at the beginning of
this chapter.
2.
Locate the battery on the system board. See Figure 3-30 for the location
of the battery.
NOTE:
If you have expansion boards installed, it may be necessary to remove them to
gain access to the battery. See “Installing an Expansion Board” earlier in this chapter for
details.
3.
Press outward on the latch at the top of the battery holder to release the
battery
. Lift the battery away from the holder
.

Slide the replacement battery into the proper position with the positive
(+) side up.
IMPORTANT:
Positive polarity (+) should be positioned up.
5.
Replace the server access panel and connect cables to the server.
6.
Run RBSU to reconfigure your system by pressing the
F9
key when
prompted during server startup. See Chapter 5, “Server Configuration
and Utilities,” or the
Compaq ROM Based Setup Utility User Guide
, for
more information on RBSU.
