Removing a Processor
1.
Follow the steps in “Removing the Access Panel” at the beginning of
the chapter.
2.
Remove the internal fan baffle. See step 4 of “Installing a Processor” for
instructions.
3.
Locate the processors and PPM as shown in Figure 3-22 and Table 3-2.
4.
Push up on the assembly clip lever to disengage the processor from the
socket
, and then unhook each side of the processor from the socket.
5.
Lift up the processor socket lever until it releases
.
IMPORTANT:
The processor socket lever must be perpendicular to the system board to
unlock the processor unit.
6.
Remove the processor from the socket
.

7.
Reinstall the internal fan baffle.
8.
Reinstall the access panel.
