86 Chapter 3 Repairs

1. Remove the Alveograph's casing (see op. A1-1) .
2. Remove the expansion chamber (see op. A4-2) .
3. Unscrew and remove the upper plate assembly (A).
4. Disconnect the two orange connectors from the CPU board
(B).
5. Cut the plastic ring retaining the wires at the back of the
power-supply board support.
6. Lay the Alveograph on its side, leaning on its block.
7. Disconnect the hydraulic elbow couplers, firmly pressing the
flange ring with a screwdriver (C).
8. Unscrew the unit's four screws (D).
To replace the unit, perform the above steps in reverse order with-
out forgetting to reconnect the hydraulic, pneumatic or electric con-
nections.
After replacing the Alveo unit, check that the piston is working prop-
erly without any “hard spots”. Otherwise, you need to re-adjust the
electromagnet
(see op. A10-2) .
Reminder:We recommend changing all the pneumatic and hydrau-
lic hoses you have removed.
To connect the pneumatic hoses, refer to the diagram
opposite.
