Inspect Drive Belt Condition
Perform only when the unit is OFF
with power disconnected.
Turn power OFF at the main disconnect
switch.
Open the left endframe door.
Carefully inspect the lower spreader drive
belts (one in each endframe) (Figure 4-21,
B), the black inlet drive belt (Figure 4-22,
B), the red transfer system drive belts (Fig-
ure 4-22, C), and the discharge conveyor
drive belt (Figure 4-21, C).
Each belt should have the proper tension.
If any belt is damaged replace the belt.
For more information on adjusting belt
tension and/or replacing belts, refer to
the REPAIR chapter and the appropriate
section and procedure.
Close and secure left endframe door.
Check Setscrews
Perform only when the unit is OFF
with power disconnected.
Setscrews (Figure 4-23) hold sprockets,
bearings, and other rotating parts securely in
place. Check and make sure that all setscrews
are tight.

Clean Vacuum System
In addition to the daily cleaning of the unit’s
lint collection bags and exhaust blower ports, a
monthly cleaning of the entire vacuum system is
required to keep the system at peak efficiency.
Required Tools
screwdriver, vacuum cleaner,
compressed air
Perform only when the unit is OFF
with power disconnected.
Turn power OFF at the main disconnect
switch.
Remove the lint collection bags (Figure 4-
24, A) from both the left and right blower
exhaust ports.
Remove each vacuum hose from both
the blower inlet (Figure 4-24, B) and the
vacuum box outlet (Figure 4-24, C).
