Transfer Clamp Roller Adjustment

For optimum performance, the rollers on the

transfer clamp must be parallel to and, during

operation, rest ﬁrmly against the clutch/brake

rollers.

NOTE:

This procedure is best

performed with two workers.

The buddy system is the safest

system.

Required Tools

small Phillips screwdriver

Perform only when the unit is OFF

with power disconnected.

Turn power OFF at the main disconnect

switch.

Pull the transfer clamp carriage forward

until the transfer clamp rollers seat against

the lower clutch/brake rollers.

Have an assistant manually raise the upper

clutch/brake roller out of the way (Figure

7-21, A).

Look along the bearing shaft and make

sure that the transfer clamp rollers are

parallel with, and seated ﬁrmly against,

the clutch rollers (Figure 7-21, B).

If not, adjust the roller brackets to enable

the rollers to seat ﬁrmly against the clutch/

brake rollers. Tighten the screws.

Start the feeder and process several pieces

to make sure the adjustment is working

properly.
