Seats and Restraints

To return the seat to its original
position:
1. Hook the outboard safety
belts to the retaining guide
to make sure the safety belts
are not pinched by the latch.
2. Lift the seatback and push it
rearward all the way.
3. Unhook the outboard safety
belts from the retaining guide
.
4. Push the top of seatback until
it latches. Make sure the seat
is locked in place.
5. Reinsert the outboard safety
belt straps into the belt
guides.
6. Reconnect the latch plate to
the buckle on the
lap/shoulder belt (if equipped)
for the center seating position.
Make sure the belt is not
twisted.
NOTICE
Make sure the safety belts are
hooked to the retaining guide.
Failure to follow this precaution
can result in damage to the
safety belts.
CAUTION
Make sure that the seatback,
when returned to its original
position, is securely locked in
place.
Put the safety belts and buckles
in between the rear seatback
and the seat cushion.
Make sure the rear seat safety
belts and buckles are not
pinched under the rear seat
cushion.

CAUTION
Do not pull the release knobs
on the top of the seatback while
the vehicle is moving. This can
cause damage or injuries to the
occupants.
Double Folding Rear Seat
(Hatchback Only)
To fold the seat forward:
1. Fold down the rear seatback.
See "Folding Rear Seatback"
earlier in this section.
2. Make sure that the head
restraints are completely
lowered.
See "Head Restraints" earlier
in this section for more
information.
Reach in between the seatback
and the seat cushion and pull
the safety belts and buckles
out.
