The trunk lid automatically locks
when closed.
Use the remote lock release to
open the trunk from inside your
vehicle.
Press the trunk release button
located on the driver’s door.
CAUTION
Do not operate the trunk lid
release while the vehicle is
moving.
Liftgate (If equipped)
CAUTION
It can be very dangerous to
drive with the liftgate open.
Carbon monoxide (CO) gas can
come into your vehicle. You
cannot see or smell CO. It can
cause unconsciousness and
even death.
If you must drive with it open,
make sure all other windows are
closed and turn the fan on to
the highest speed using any
setting that brings in outside
air. Doing this will force outside
air into the vehicle.
CAUTION
Before opening or closing the
liftgate, make sure that its path
is clear of people or any other
obstructions.

CAUTION
Do not operate the vehicle with
the liftgate open.
An open liftgate would obstruct
your rear view.
Operating your vehicle with an
obstructed rear view can lead to
a collision resulting in damage
to your vehicle or other proper-
ty, personal injury, or even
death.
CAUTION
Make sure your hands and any
other body parts, as well as
those of other persons, are
completely away from the lift-
gate closure area.
From the outside, use your key to
unlock the liftgate.
Turn the key clockwise to unlock
the liftgate.
To open the liftgate, pull up on the
handle on the outside of the
liftgate.
To close the liftgate, push it down
until it latches securely.
The liftgate automatically locks
when closed.
Use the remote lock release to
open the liftgate from inside your
vehicle.
Pull up the release lever located
near the front corner of the driver's
seat.
CAUTION
Do not operate the liftgate
release while the vehicle is
moving.
