• Number of loads = 1
• Nominal cooling capacity Qn = 1 kW
• T_evap = -30°C
• T_cond = 5°C
OD = 10 mm
Qn > min Q to guarantee the oil is

The diameter of the evaporator piping should be 10 mm or lower
2.12.4 Suction pipe sizing requirements
When sizing the suction piping, it is important to select the correct
diameter, taking into consideration the minimum cooling capacity needed
to carry the oil.
The tables below show the minimum cooling capacity as a function of:
• Operating conditions;
• Pipe diameter.
For the optimum diameter, make sure that the required design cooling
capacity is higher than the value shown in the table that guarantees oil
return.
