Settings for focus.
[Add to Presets]
When adding the settings for [Focus] to preset, click [Add].
[Focus]
Select the focus.
[Auto]
Automatically adjusts the focus.
[Fixed at infinity]
Moves the focus position to near infinity.
If more precise focusing is needed, select [Manual] and adjust the focus.
[Manual]
By clicking and holding the [Near] and [Far] buttons in [Adjust Focus], adjust the focus in the near and far directions
respectively.
By clicking [Exec] in [One-shot AF], the camera will focus once using autofocus and then switch to manual mode.
The following procedure enables to adjust the focus appropriately.
1. Select [Auto (Aperture-priority AE)] in [Exposure], and move the aperture slider to the right end to fully open the
aperture. The depth of field becomes shallow, enabling to adjust the focus appropriately.
2. To adjust the focus, click and hold the [Far] or [Near] button in [Adjust Focus], or click [Exec] in [One-shot AF].
3. When the focus adjustment is finished, change [Exposure] to an appropriate setting.
Important
• When using in [Auto], note the following.
– Conduct a thorough operation test beforehand to check the effectiveness of the setting.
– Set [Exposure] to one of the following [Auto], [Auto (Flickerless)], [Auto (Flickerless2)] (
),
[Auto (Shutter-priority AE)], or [Auto (Aperture-priority AE)] (
).
– The infrared cut filter may reciprocate several times while the mode is switching between Day Mode and Night Mode. It will not be
possible to use pan, tilt, zoom and manual focus during this period.
• If the Viewer is closed while [Day Mode] or [Night Mode] is set, these will remain in effect, even if [Day/Night] is set to [Auto] on the
Settings page.
To enable Auto Day/Night mode, set [Day/Night] to [Auto] before exiting the Viewer.
• If an infrared illumination from an external device is used when set to Night Mode, turn on the infrared illumination before switching to
Night Mode.
• The camera is equipped with an infrared cut filter without insertion-extraction mechanism, thus unable to obtain the infrared illumination
effect.
Important
• The set focus is also applied to other users.
• Depending on the lighting used, focus may not be maintained when switching between [Day Mode] and [Night Mode]. Focus when
switching between Day/Night mode can be set in [Event] > [Day/Night Mode Switching].
• If [Manual] is selected in [Exposure] and the shutter speed is set to 1/1 sec, the focus cannot be achieved even if set to [Auto]. In this
case, adjust the focus with [Manual].
• Note that when the focus is set to [Manual] it will remain fixed.
• In conditions such as shooting an outdoor scene from an indoor through a glass window, the camera may focus on the glass if there is
dust or water droplets on the surface. Install the camera at the shortest possible distance from the glass surface.
