280 Dauntless

Gyroscopic Stabilizer (Option)

The gyroscopic stabilizer (gyro), located inside an optional leaning

post configuration (see Figure 3.12.1), reduces boat roll motion

independent of boat speed. This keeps the vessel more stable for

moving around the boat and helps reduce motion sickness. To operate:
1. Open gyro's

Raw water seacock

(see Figure 3.12.1).

2. In the head, turn on gyro power by pressing the

GYRO

switch on the 12VDC Distribution panel.

3. At the helm display, navigate to the

Home

screen and

click on the

Seakeeper

icon to start up the gyro. Refer

to the owner’s packet for complete gyro instructions.

while unit’s flywheel is spinning,

precessing (tilting). Maintenance

should not be attempted unless

gyroscopic stabilizer is locked and

the flywheel has stopped spinning.
