Manual Control Override
Each of the remote battery switches has a manual override as an added level of safety that allows manual
on/off control with or without power and provides lock off for servicing the electrical system.
Battery Charger
(Option)
This vessel has options for three battery chargers, one in the head (see chapter two, General Information )
and two in the mechanical access hatch (see Figure 4.6.1). Battery chargers automatically increase current output
when there is a drop in battery voltage. When the batteries are charged, the unit maintains a small current flow to
keep the batteries fully charged and ready for service without overcharging.
Overload Protection
If an electrical short or overload occurs in the electrical system the charger reduces its output voltage to avoid internal
damage. When an electrical short occurs, the red light on the front panel of the battery charger is illuminated.
The
overload or short must be identified and resolved before the charger resumes charging. For electrical system
service contact an authorized Boston Whaler dealer.
Charge Rate
The battery charger has selectable profiles that affect the charge rate. The charge rate profile is pre-set at
the factory to match the battery type (AGM) installed on this vessel. Matching the charge rate to the battery
type installed extends battery life and maximizes battery performance.
