NOTE:
If the laser head is not aligned properly within the cover of
the laser console, it will not be possible to connect the Fiber Cable
to the laser console; call BIOLASE, Inc. or the authorized BIOLASE
representative for additional support.
7. Align the blue guide of the Fiber Cable connector (proximal end) to the
blue dot on the laser head interface. Position the middle of the connector
to the laser aperture and vertically push down, gently, as far as the
connector will go (Fig 7.17, 7.18).
WARNING: DO NOT APPLY FORCE when installing the Fiber
Cable. Applying force may damage the laser head components.
8. Secure the retainer ring by turning it clockwise until it is snug (Fig 7.19).
9. Align the middle length of the Fiber Cable to the hook of the telescopic
arm and push it in gently to secure it.
10. Remove the protective cover from the distal end of the Fiber Cable again
and verify that it is clean and not damaged (see Section 11, Maintenance
and Troubleshooting) (Fig. 7.20).
NOTE:
Make sure the black retaining o-ring on the Fiber Cable
is on the front side of the hook to keep the Fiber Cable in place.
11. Carefully place the Fiber Cable with its protective cover, or with the
Handpiece connected, in the Handpiece holder
(Fig 7.21).
