accompanying the product.

safety precautions when installing telephone equipment:

Follow all warnings and instructions marked on or packed with the product.
■
Never install telephone wiring during a lightning storm.
■
Never install a telephone jack in a wet location unless the jack is specifically
designed for wet locations.
■
Never touch uninsulated telephone wires or terminals unless the telephone
wiring has been disconnected at the network interface.
■
Use caution when installing or modifying telephone lines.
■
Use only Lucent Technologies-manufactured MERLIN MAGIX Integrated
System circuit modules, carrier assemblies, and power units in the MERLIN
MAGIX Integrated System control unit.
■
Use only Lucent Technologies-recommended/approved MERLIN MAGIX
Integrated System accessories.
■
If equipment connected to the TDL telephone modules (412 LS-ID-TDL and
024 TDL), the MLX telephone modules (008 MLX, 408 GS/LS-MLX, 408 GS/
LS-ID-MLX, and 016 MLX), or the ETR telephone module (016 ETR) is to be
used for in-range out-of-building (IROB) applications, IROB protectors are
required.
■
Do not install this product near water—for example, in a wet basement
location.
■
Do not overload wall outlets, as this can result in the risk of fire or electrical
shock.
