supplied with the fire. This will need to be
fitted to the outer rear edges of the side
and top flanges of the hotbox. Cut a
485mm length of foam seal. Be careful not
to stretch the seal when measuring.
Remove the protective backing from the
foam seal and fit this to the rear of the top
flange (See figure 15). Cut two 580mm
lengths. Fit these to the rear outer edges of
the side flanges. Ensure that there is no gap
between the foam seals where they meet at
the top flange (See figure 15).
10. HOTBOX INSTALLATION
10.1 Method 1 - Front fixing to fireplace surround.
1.
Make sure that the fireplace front surround area is sound enough to take the fibre
plugs and woodscrews. If necessary, make sound with a suitable cement.
2.
Place the hotbox centrally in the fireplace in the position in which it is to be
permanently installed. If a concealed connection is being used, insert the hotbox into the
fireplace feeding the supply pipe through the pierced hole in the rear grommet.
3.
Mark the fireplace front surround through
the four fixing holes in the side flanges of the
hotbox (See figure 16).
4.
Remove the hotbox. Drill four holes in the
fireplace front surround at the marked
positions using a no.12 masonry drill.
5.
Insert a fibre plug into each hole.
6.
Place the hotbox back in position in the
fireplace.
7.
Fit a woodscrew through each hole in the
hotbox flanges and tighten to seal the box to
the fireplace surround.
