3 Installing and Configuring Maestro | News
A Graphics Device Service (GDS) plugin has been developed to allow MediaCentral Command to
control graphic content imported from Maestro. The Maestro GDS plugin uses commands based in
Chyron Intelligent Interface (CII) protocol to control Maestro | News program content in Command.
The following provides instructions for installing and configuring Maestro and related applications.

In almost all cases, Avid Service Framework and the device service should be installed on the
graphics device, not the Command Server. The only exception is if you are controlling the graphics
device via a serial connection.

Installing Avid Service Framework
Each computer and device running MediaCentral Command software requires at least the core
components of Service Framework and must be able to connect to a computer running the Avid
Lookup service.
To install the Service Framework software:
1. Insert the Command installation CD (or access the install program from the network).
The autorun installation program starts and displays the following screen.
