The Peterson Adaptive Control System can sense when
material is bridged (compressed against the sides of the
hopper) and is not getting to the rotor.
For the system to detect a bridge, the following condi-
tions must exist:
•
The engine RPM must be above 2050
•
The feed pressure must be over 2500 psi
•
The compression roll height must be between 20 in.
(50 cm) (Min Height) and 32 in. (80 cm) (Max
Height)
•
All of these conditions must be true for 3 seconds
(3000 ms), as set by the bridge delay timer (Bridge
Delay TMR FP)
Figure 145 shows a bridge condition.
When all the conditions have been met, the adaptive
control system reverses the feed until the compression
roll goes below the Min Height or times out for 5 sec-
onds.
When the feed reverses, the compression roll down-
pressure is delayed (Delay Down TMR FP). The default
duration is 500 ms (1/2 second). Then the compression
roll applies down-pressure for as long as the feed is
reversing.
Press
B
to adjust these settings.
To turn the anti-bridging feature on or off, go to the
Adjust page (see “Adjust Setup Menu” on page 130)
and select “Advanced Adaptive AG.”
