RANSPORT
Before loading the 6700B for transport, the machine must be properly prepared.

To prepare the machine for transport:
1.
Check for loose items and debris.
2.
Roll up the material deflector.
3.
Fold the discharge conveyor.
4.
Attach the machine to the towing vehicle.
5.
Secure the ladder, water hose, and radiator.
6.
Do a final walk-around check.
The above steps are covered in this Chapter.

WARNING
Only experienced truck drivers should attempt
to transport the 6700B. Its weight and dimen-
sions are such that an inexperienced driver may
place the equipment and other vehicles on the
road at great risk.
Follow any applicable standards or guidelines including
any governmental requirements for safely towing a
machine of this size and weight.
Check for Loose Items and Debris
Clean combustible materials from the engine, exhaust
system, and other heat sources.
Clean thoroughly to avoid debris falling onto the road-
way during transport. Check to be sure that rags, tools,
bolts, and other loose items have been removed. Make
sure that debris and stray objects cannot fall during
travel or during set-up at the next operating site.
Roll Up the Material Deflector
1.
Roll up the rubber deflector (Figure 156).
2.
Bind with strapping or banding straps or other
secure fasteners to prevent loosening during strong
winds caused by highway travel speeds.
