From bed - sitting (11 steps)
Alenti
is compatible with most generic
hospital beds with a clearance of 150 mm
(5 7/8”).
For the resident to be able to move directly
from the bed to
Alenti
and vice versa, the
resident must be strong enough to move
himself or herself sideways and/or be able
to stand up.

Make sure that the wheel brakes on the
bed are locked.

Let the resident sit upright on the side of
the bed.

Fold back the
Alenti
hand rest-handle
arm, away from the resident.

Position
Alenti’s
front towards the side of
the bed and with the
Alenti
seat lower
than the bed.
(See Fig. 1)

Activate the brakes on
Alenti
and ensure
that they are locked.

Let the resident move himself or herself
from bed to the
Alenti. (See Fig. 2)

Fold forward the hand rest-handle arm so
that the resident can hold on to it.
WARNING
To avoid falling during transfer,
always ensure that the brakes are
applied on all equipment being
used.

WARNING
To avoid falling, make sure that
the resident is positioned cor-
rectly and that the safety belt is
being used, properly fastened
and tightened.
WARNING
To avoid resident falling out of
the device, make sure that the
arm rest are folded down during
transfer.
Make sure the resident is in an upright
position in the centre of the seat with his
or her:
•
buttocks at the back of the seat,
•
back against the back rest and
•
hands on the hand rest.

Secure the resident with the safety belt.
10 Release the
Alenti
brakes and move the
Alenti
away from the bed.
Adjust
Alenti
to an ergonomic height for
the caregiver and safe for moving the res-
ident.
To bed - sitting (8 steps
)

Adjust
Alenti
to an appropriate height for
the transfer. In some cases, it’s easier to
transfer if the
Alenti
seat is a little bit
higher than the bed.

Position
Alenti
so that its front is facing
the side of the bed.
(See Fig. 1)

Active the brakes on
Alenti
and ensure
that they are locked.

Apply the wheel brakes on the bed.

Take of the safety belt and attach the
safety belt clip to the hand rest-handle
arm.

Fold back the hand rest-handle arm,
away from the resident.

Let the resident move himself or herself
to bed from the
Alenti. (See Fig. 2)

Make sure the resident sits upright at the
side of the bed before
Alenti
is pulled
away.

WARNING
To avoid the resident from falling,
always ensure that the device is
in the lowest possible position
before attempting to transfer,
dress or undress the resident.
