NXA-WAP200G Wireless Access Point
To make your network more secure, choose the Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) security protocol
that is supported by the Modero panels.
WPA and 802.1x are not compatible with the current
firmware versions of the Modero panels
, but AMX has a roadmap to integrate these security
options in future firmware upgrades. Refer to the following table for a brief description of these
terms.
Configuration of a WEP security protocol
WEP is an encryption scheme used to protect your wireless data communications. WEP uses a
combination of 64-bit and 128-bit keys to provide access control to your network and encryption
security for wireless data transmissions. The NXA-WAP200G and current Modero panels support
both protocols.
Refer to the
Wireless Device Communication Setup
section on page 27 for detailed instruction on
security setup of both the Modero panels and the WAP200G.
WPA Configuration
To implement WPA, perform the following steps:
(This feature is currently not supported on the
Modero panels).
1.
Check the
Enable WPA
box.
2.
Enter a Pass-Phrase between 8 and 63 Characters. Pass-Phrase characters are alpha-numeric.
Leave this field blank if the Pass-Phrase will be supplied by an authentication server.
3.
Select
TKIP
for WPA Multicast Cipher. TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol) changes the
temporal key every 10,000 packets.
4.
Select TKIP for WPA Pairwise Cipher Type.
802.1X Configuration
When 802.1X authentication is enabled, the AP will authenticate clients via a remote RADIUS
server.
This feature is currently not supported on the Modero panels.
To implement 802.1X,
perform the following steps:
1.
Check the
Enable 802.1X
box.
2.
Select the desired authentication timeout, determined by minutes.
3.
Enter the RADIUS server IP Address.
4.
Enter the RADIUS server port number.
5.
Enter the RADIUS server shared secret.
6.
Check the
MAC Address Authentication
, if enabled.
