Wireless Device Communication Setup

NXA-WAP200G Wireless Access Point

Wireless Device Communication Setup

Once you have connected to the WAP200G (either directly through an Ethernet connection or

wirelessly through a PCI/PCMCIA) you must configure the unit within the Access Point mode. The

Wireless Settings of the WAP200G must match those set within the Wireless Settings section of the

Modero panel’s Wireless/Secondary Connection pages.

The default setup for the WAP200G is Access Point mode

. To convert the communication mode,

you must press the

Administration

tab from the Configuration Utility, press the on-screen

Bridge

button (from the Commands section) and allow the unit a few seconds to reconfigure the

communication mode. Now, slide the toggle switch to

BRIDGE

position on the rear of the

WAP200G. and of this page. Refer to the

Administration Page

section on page 61 for more

information.

After converting from one mode of communication to another, it is recommended

that you cycle power to the WAP200G.

Logging into the WAP200G within Access Point Mode

Open a TCP/IP network configured web browser.

Verify the computer and the WAP200G are on the same LAN, within the same IP Address

pool. If you are having trouble communicating with your WAP200G, refer to the

Troubleshooting

section on page 71.

Type

http://192.168.1.240/

(default WAP200G IP Address)

into the web browser’s

Address

field (or the

URL

field) at the top of the browser window. This is the same location where you

type in the resolvable web address such as http://www.amx.com.

192.168.1.240

is the default IP Address of the NXA-WAP200G Wireless Access Point.

Press the

Enter

key to open the Login window (FIG. 21) where you will need to enter the

following default information:

User Name

: Admin (

Case Sensitive

)

This word MUST use the correct case.

Password

: 1988

Click

to enter the information and access the browser-based configuration screens.
