OmniSwitch 6800/6850/9000 Switch Management Guide

December 2007

Specify the transfer mode.

If you are transferring a switch image file, you must specify the binary

transfer mode on your FTP client. If you are transferring a configuration file, you must specify the ASCII
transfer mode.

Transfer the file.

Use the FTP “put” command or click the client’s download button to send the file to

the switch.

When you use FTP to transfer a file to the switch, the file is automatically placed in the switch’s /

flash

working

directory. For details on using CLI commands to managing files once they are on the switch see

“File and Directory Management” on page 1-5

Note.

You must use the binary mode (bin) to transfer files via FTP.
